Problem exporting report data with Internet Explorer 7/8

Exporting report data may fail in IE7 and IE8 for any report that requires additional data when the report is run.  When if fails, you will see a new browser window open, then close without prompting to save the file.  This is due to the default security settings in IE7 and IE8.

The problem does not occur with IE6, IE9 (beta), Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Safari. If you have problems with these browsers, check your pop-up blocker to make sure it is not blocking pop-ups on your Timeless Time & Expense or Timeless Project Tracking website.

To change your settings to allow the download of exported comma and tab delimited reports, open the Internet Options in Internet Explorer and select the Security tab.

If your Timeless web site is on your local intranet, you can the Timeless web site to the list in the Local Intranet zone.  The Local Intranet zone default security settings allow the exported reports to be saved.

If your Timeless web site is not on your local intranet, you should add it the the Trusted Sites zone.  The Trusted Sites zone default settings must be changed to allow the exported reports to be saved.  Press the Custom Level button and change the Downloads > Automatic prompting for file downloads setting to Enable.

After making any changes close and reopen your browser.  You should now be able to export report data.
